The third round of the LRP Islikon Masters was held on January 12â“13th, 2008, and was attended by 80 drivers in different classes.
Free practice was held on Saturday but we had some technical troubles. Therefore we could not make so many practice rounds as the competition. At night we were not very satisfied with the optimal setup.
Qualification rounds on Sunday were also not optimal as the chassis had too little grip. However, after qualifying Ronny Lnenicka ended up in 2nd place and Mario Rigert in 3rd place. Sacha Lnenicka had technical troubles so he was in 7th place.
In the first final run, Ronny was behind the leader and could battle with him. Sven ZĂĽnd made a mistake and Ronny overtook the lead. In the second final run, Ronny had no chance to overtake the leader so he ended in 2nd place, so the third final run was the definitive one. From the start, Ronny attacked the leader and waited for his chance to overtake Sven. This happened soon enough and Ronny â” with his constant and fast driving â” won the last final and was the winner of this race. Mario Rigert finished in 3rd place and Sacha gave a strong performance to finish in 4th place.
